At the house

There are some board games and magazines. There is also a ping-pong table and a pool table. You can use the internet or disconnect and tell stories around the fire.

Sunbathe and swim in the pool. Play in the park or sit in the garden.

Visit the mill and tubs or chapel.

And the main thing, enjoy yourself in company in a relaxed environment.

 

Around the house:

on foot or by bike, there are many paths to discover in the area. One of the oldest is the road from Manresa to Vic, which is currently part of the Camino de Santiago (www.camidesantjaume.cat) which passes through Catalonia.

These paths can lead you to the Tàpies Fountain (which has a spectacular waterfall when it rains), the oak grove of Tàpies which have hundreds of years old oaks or Lime Kiln (now Millraces: art and sustainability center www.cacis.cat)

Wandering around you can observe how the different seasons paint the crops: almond and olive trees, vineyards and grain field, framed by dry stone walls and vineyard huts.

In Autumn you can find mushrooms in the forest, herbs all year round and even orchids in the spring. You can also follow the trail of a wild boar or a deer.

 

In Moianès:

This region of magnificent natural landscapes has numerous touristic resources. Among the most important: the lake Monastery, the town of Moiá or the Toll Caves (www.consorcidelmoianes.cat).

Bages

This is a region which is recovering it’s ancient winemaking tradition. You can visit several wineries from the Designation of Origen Pla de Bages, www.dopladebages.com, some of which from the village of Artés, 2 km from Torrecabota.

Some of the tourist attractions in the region include: Manresa with St. Ignatius Basilica and Cave (www.manresaturisme.cat) Sant Benet de Bages Monastery, and Montserrat Monastery in an incomparable mountain setting, the Sèquia park (www.parcdelasequia.cat) where you can go on a good hike, the Salt or mountain and Cardona Castle (www.cardonaturisme.cat)

You can also enjoy recreational sports activities a few kilometers from Torrecabota: kayaking on Lake Navarcles (www.el-llac.com), hot air balloon rides (www.globuskontiki.com) or lightweight flying (www.aeroclubdelbages.cat) or horseback riding.

 

In Catalogne

Catalonia is a country of great touristic importance, where the Costa Brava or the Costa Dorada beaches stand out, the Pyrenees mountains or cities, particularly Barcelona, where you can visit the Sagrada Familia and other modernist monuments. Tarragona, Girona and Lleida are other cities that may be visited (www.catalunya.com).

Torrecabota is located in the center of Catalonia and is relatively close to all of these resources. Halfway in between the Pyrenees and the beach, or an hour drive from Barcelona, and a half hour from Girona and Tarragona.
